Unfortunately this year’s most awaited film Sooryavanshi and ‘83 has been indefinitely postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The makers have yet not figured out when will be these and other films would start releasing in theatres.
Irrfan Khan’s Angrezi Medium which barely stayed at the theatres for a 4-5 day as the theatres were asked to stop working due to the Pandemic scare. While everyone was expecting to see the rerelease of the film, the makers choose OTT platform to go ahead with the film.
However, this can’t happen with biggies like Sooryavanshi and ’83. Some of the people attached to the film had these ideas although Reliance Entertainment Group CEO, Shibasish Sarkar, in a webinar consisting of some important people in the field of production and exhibition, made it clear that there’s not a question about releasing these films straight on the internet.
While talking to a daily Shibasish Sarkar said, “As per the situation right now, we foresee that even if the normalcy takes another 3-6 months of time, we are mentally clear that we want to give both the films a proper theatrical release.”
