COVID19: Vijay Deverakonda Made Two Major Announcements Today Including Commitment Of Rs. 1 Crore For Employment Generation

Vijay Deverakonda, who instantly became the talk of the town since the remake of his movie Arjun Reddy was made. Vijay is a Telugu actor who will also be seen opposite Ananya Panday in an upcoming project.

The heartrob actor, in July 2019, started a secret project named as The Deverakonda Foundation (TDF). The foundation aimed to employ at least 1 lakh people in his lifetime. Now, owning to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the actor decided to finally talk about this foundation.

Vijay took to his Twitter account today to make the two major announcements. He shared a video on YouTube where he is seen explaining about how the Foundation operates and how they are planning to help the people affected by the virus. Vijay said, “Most of the world’s economists are worried that the real battle starts after this crisis is over. What is that battle? Employment. Now employment generation is going to be a big challenge across the world. We are going to address this issue from our side. In July 2019, I started a secret project.

The project’s dream is to employ One lakh people in my lifetime. So, in August 2019, we hired a passionate team for this secret project. The first goal was to employ 50 young boys and girls. In Sept 2019, 650 boys and girls from rural areas sent their profiles, all of them looking for employment. In October, 650 people were shortlisted to 120. These 120 were brought to Hyderabad on our own expenses, interviewed and assessed them based on their performance. In November, we selected our first batch of 50 students. We trained them in the field of their choice.”

He added, “I thought of keeping it a secret because I only wanted to announce it when I had behind me 50 happy, successfully employed boys and girls. But this situation called for it. Though most of the students’ employment got stalled due to this crisis, I am still happy as two of them have already got their offer letters. The rest of the 48 people are also in the final stages of the process and I am sure they too will be employed right after this crisis,” the actor said.

“The second reason I am very happy about this is that now, more than ever, this employment generation, this training youth in their skill set, is one of the biggest needs at this hour. And I am happy that we got an early start. We set up a team. We now have a system in place. So, soon after this crisis is over we are ready to take on more students and make sure more people get employed,” Vijay Deverakonda further said.
