Since Coronavirus arrived in India, the cases of people testing positive has been increasing day by day. The whole country is following the lockdown to stay safe.
Due to the lockdown, the theatres are also on a shut down and are going through major losses. For now, the lockdown is till the date 3rd May but looking at the increasing cases there is a huge chance that the date can be extended further. Manoj Desai, who’s the owner of Mumbai’s Gaiety Galaxy revealed that he had taken a loan to provide salaries to his employees during this crisis.
Now, after knowing this situation, Akshay Kumar has come forward to help the owner. Desai himself revealed that Akshay Kumar called him a few days ago to offer financial aid. He said that it was very kind of him to offer help but added that they have to find a way to sustain. He said that they have managed to collect enough funds in order to pay their staff their salaries for the month.
Manoj said that he will head to Maratha Mandir and Gaiety Galaxy to discuss the plans for May and ensure that they don’t have to seek help from the industry. Talking about Maratha Mandir, we all know that it is the only theatre in Mumbai where Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has been screened for 25 years. Therefore Manoj was expecting Yash Raj Films to offer a helping hand which they did not. He thinks the production house should have given a thought about the same.
