The makers of Adivi Sesh’s Telugu film Dacoit recently surprised fans by announcing Mrunal Thakur has been cast in the lead. Shruti Haasan was supposed to play her part. However, she decided to walk out of the project due to certain reasons. This change was unexpected as Haasan had initially been confirmed for the role when the film was first announced.
At first, many assumed Shruti Haasan left due to a scheduling conflict. However, a new report reveals that there was more to it.

According to the India Today report, Haasan’s exit was partly due to her discomfort with the “over-involvement” of her co-star in the script.
The report states that even though she had filmed the teaser last year, the shoot dates were later changed. Sources say the co-star’s involvement in the script became too much for Haasan, making the situation uncomfortable, and she decided to walk away from the film.
The official announcement from the makers didn’t specify why Haasan left, but it’s clear there were issues behind the scenes.

Mrunal Thakur was recently confirmed as the new lead, which has excited many fans. The first look of Thakur in the film has already generated a lot of buzz.
Thakur’s paycheque for the role is also making headlines. According to Deccan Chronicle, she will earn Rs. 2.5 crore for her role. Sources say that her character will be bold, intense, and driven by anger, which is a departure from her previous roles.
Dacoit is directed by Shaneil Deo and produced by Supriya Yarlagadda. This film will mark the first time Mrunal Thakur shares the screen with Adivi Sesh, who has also contributed to the screenplay and story. The technical crew includes cinematographer Danush Bhaskar, music composer Bheems Ceciroleo, and editor Kodati Pavan Kalyan.
