Actor Abhishek Bachchan promised the inmates of Agra Central Jail an exclusive screening of his new film Dasvi, which was shot on location there.
The actor returned to the city to show Dasvi for 2,000 inmates at the county jail. Senior officials welcomed Abhishek and his co-stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur, as well as director Tushar Jalota, to the grand set up.
Abhishek reminisced about many great occasions, eagerly showing members of the press where he shot the ‘Macha Macha’ song and other key scenes.
He also donated an assortment of books for the inmates to enjoy at the library. Sources close to the crew reveal that the inmates were humbled by the actor’s thoughtful gestures.
He shared a video clipping of him talking to the inmates and captioned it: “A promise is a promise!! Last night I managed to fulfil a commitment I made a year ago. The first screening of our film #Dasvi held for the guards and inmates of Agra Central Jail. We shot the film here. Their reactions are memories I will remember and cherish for a lifetime.”
Dasvi is a film produced by Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan. From April 7, a Maddock Films production directed by Tushar Jalota, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam, and Nimrat Kaur, and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Bake My Cake Films, will be available on Jio Cinema and Netflix.
