Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan are teaming up once again after Shaitaan for the much-anticipated rom-com De De Pyaar De 2. For this sequel currently in production, there’s an exciting new update: Madhavan is joining the cast as the father of Rakul Preet Singh’s character.
Under the direction of Anshul Sharma, the film promises to deliver a delightful mix of comedy and drama, exploring the intriguing dynamics of age gaps between the characters.
Not Anil Kapoor, R Madhavan To Play Rakul Preet Singh’s Father In The Sequel
Initially, Anil Kapoor was considered for a role in De De Pyaar De 2, but he later withdrew, clearing the path for R Madhavan. This marks the second collaboration between Madhavan and Ajay Devgn, following their previous work together in Shaitaan.
According to a recent report in Hindustan Times, a source close to the production revealed, “Madhavan will play Rakul’s father. The plot will highlight the comedic rivalry between Ajay and Madhavan, as Rakul’s character dates a man older than her father. The dynamic with Madhavan fits the narrative perfectly.”
About De De Pyaar De 2
De De Pyaar De 2 will continue the story of Ayesha (Rakul Preet Singh) and Aashish (Ajay Devgn). The sequel will delve into how Ayesha’s family, especially her father, reacts to her relationship with an older man. The amusing age-gap dynamics and the ensuing one-upmanship between Ajay and Madhavan’s characters promise to be a major highlight of the film.
The sequel witnesses the return of Rakul Preet Singh and Ajay Devgn in their original roles. However, actress Tabu, who portrayed Devgn’s wife in the first film, will not be returning for the sequel. The film is helmed by Anshul Sharma and is presently being shot in Mumbai.
