Deepika Padukone’s Paris Fashion Week calendar hit an unexpected pause this week, even as the actor continues to rank among the most visible Indian faces on luxury front rows worldwide. As a Louis Vuitton house ambassador since 2022, Padukone was slated to attend the French fashion giant’s Fall Winter show in Paris on March 10, but she ultimately did not make it to the event.
While the brand’s global showcases are usually planned down to the last fitting, this time real world travel disruptions took precedence, with developments in West Asia impacting flight operations for multiple destinations.
The Latest Update
According to information shared in the source report, Padukone was scheduled to fly to Paris on March 9, and preparations for her appearance were already underway. The report stated that she had finalised her outfits and begun fittings for the show. However, the trip was called off after flight cancellations and wider limitations on air travel linked to the escalating Iran Israel conflict.
The same report quoted a source saying her team had been in conversation with the fashion house for several days about the possibility of a cancellation. The source added, “Deepika was initially confirmed to attend. She had zeroed in on her outfits and begun fittings for the appearance. But her flight was among the many that were cancelled in the last few days. Also, given that the war has been escalating and affecting several countries across West Asia, she reconsidered whether it was the right time to be travelling.”
Louis Vuitton was said to have been understanding of the situation and respected her decision. Padukone’s team did not offer an official response in the same report.
The absence stood out because Padukone’s Louis Vuitton appearances have become a recurring global style moment for India’s fashion watchers, with the actor regularly attending the house’s Paris shows as part of her ambassador role.
