The trailer of Deepika Padukone, Vikrant Massey’s Chhapaak was received with a thunderous response. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Chhapaak narrates the gut-wrenching story of an acid-attack survivor.
The movie is releasing this Friday but before that, a grand premiere will be held on 8th January. The premiere is special because it’ll have all the acid-attack survivors who also have played their parts in the film.
Chhapaak’s titular character Malti is based on Laxmi Agarwal’s life. She along with Jeetu Sharma, Ritu Saini, Bala Prajapati, and Kunti Soni will attend the star-studded premiere. All of the four have also acted in the film.
Meghna Gulzar is returning after Talvar and Raazi. Both of her films are critics’ favourites and Raazi was a super hit at the box office. She would be eyeing similar results with Chhapaak too. It’s clashing with Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior at the box office.
