Devara: Jr NTR Says It Was Neve Planned As 2-Part Saga, Reveals How Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Bhaira’ & Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Thangam’ Are Imp To Film’s Story

Devara was never intended to be a two-part saga, according to Jr NTR, who explained that story’s depth required splitting it into two parts.

Jr NTR recently opened up about the much-anticipated film Devara: Part 1 in a candid conversation with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The actor clarified that the film was never intended to be a two-part saga, contrary to previous assumptions.

Devara Was Never Intended To Be Made In Two Parts BUT…

The story evolved in a way that required more than one film to fully capture its essence. Jr NTR explained that the decision to split the film into two parts came as they delved deeper into the story. “We never wanted to actually make this film in two parts. Never. We never had the intention of making it into two parts. But going deep into it, when we started shooting for it, it’s characters-driven,” he said.

He highlighted that the film’s narrative is driven not just by his character but also by Saif Ali Khan’s role as Bhaira and Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Thangam.

How Saif Ali Khan & Janhvi Kapoor’s Roles Are Imp To The Film

Jr NTR noted that Bhaira’s role is so integral to the plot that one film might not be enough to fully convey its depth. Similarly, Janhvi’s character, Thangam, is central to the film’s romantic subplot, which intertwines deeply with the main storyline.

“Talk about Bhaira…I really don’t think one part is enough for me to convey to the audiences what Bhaira actually is. Even for Janhvi, her character’s name is Thangam. What you’re gonna see is a beautiful love story, which is there in the film. It’s just not a love story because you need to have a romantic track in a movie, it’s not that. Janhvi’s character is completely interwoven with Devara as a movie,” Jr NTR added.

Looking ahead, Jr NTR teased that Devara: Part 2 will also be a visual treat for fans.
