Karan Johar‘s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released yesterday in theatres across the nation and it is being loved by everyone. The film is particularly special because it marks the 25th anniversary of Karan as a director in the industry as well as his return as a director after nearly seven years. However, one scene has met with some controversy.
The scene in discussion is a kissing scene between the characters of Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. Amid the uproar surrounding this scene, Dharmendra has opened up about it in an interview. He said, “I am hearing that Shabana and I have surprised the audience with the kissing scene, and at the same time they have even applauded it.”
The veteran actor then reminded the audience of the last time he had done an on-screen kiss. “I think people weren’t expecting it and it came very suddenly which is why it created an impact. The last time I did a kissing scene was in Life In A Metro with Nafisa Ali and at that time too people had appreciated it.”
The Film Is Doing Well At The Box Office
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani opened to a 25%-30% occupancy on 3,482 screens across the nation. On its opening day, the film has minted 11.50 cr net which is a great start for a film of this size. Around 60-62% of its net gross is coming from national chains. On its second day, the film saw a massive 60% jump and minted around 45 cr net at the domestic box office. The film is expected to gross 95 cr during its weekend run. The positive word of mouth and Ranveer-Alia’s sparkling chemistry has surely helped the film.
