Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh has finally hit theaters, and the ending has left audiences shocked and excited for what comes next. The film’s climax reveals a secret kill list written in invisible ink, setting up an explosive sequel.
Dhurandhar follows Hamza, a spy played by Ranveer Singh, who is sent by the Indian government to infiltrate Pakistani terror networks. The film runs for 3 hours and 34 minutes and takes viewers through Hamza’s dangerous mission to destroy terrorism at its core. After over two years away from the big screen, Ranveer delivers a powerful performance that shows both the strength and vulnerability of a spy.
The Shocking Climax
The film’s ending is where everything comes together. Hamza successfully completes his first major mission by eliminating Rahman Dakkait, a powerful gangster played by Akshaye Khanna. Throughout the movie, Hamza gains Rahman’s trust and becomes his right hand man. But this is all part of his plan.
Hamza teams up with Sanjay Dutt’s character SP Choudhary Aslam and Rakesh Bedi’s Jamil to corner Rahman in an isolated area outside the city. After an intense action sequence, they kill him. To maintain his cover and gain public sympathy, Hamza then takes Rahman to the hospital pretending to save him.
The Invisible Ink Secret
After Rahman is declared dead, a bloodstained Hamza returns home to his partner Yaalina, played by Sara Arjun. He breaks down emotionally and cries inconsolably while she feeds him. This scene shows the mental toll that the mission takes on him.
Later that night, the real twist happens. While Yaalina sleeps, Hamza wakes up and opens his secret diary. This diary was given to him by another Indian spy. He uses invisible ink to reveal hidden text on one of the pages. The page reads Rahman Dakkait, and he strikes out the name to show his mission is complete.
Then comes the biggest reveal. Hamza flips to the next page and drops liquid to reveal more text. The page contains several high profile names, including ISI’s Major Iqbal. These are his next targets, and he must eliminate them one by one. This sets up the entire plot for Part 2.
Who Is Hamza?
Hamza is part of Operation Dhurandhar, a secret mission created by the Indian government. The film opens with the Kandahar hijack negotiation. R. Madhavan plays the Intelligence Bureau chief whose look is inspired by former National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. After the disappointing negotiation outcome, he proposes a long term plan to prevent such incidents.
His suggestion is ignored until the 2001 Parliament attack forces the government to take action. This leads to Operation Dhurandhar being launched. Ranveer Singh’s character takes on the identity of Hamza Ali Mazari and is sent to Pakistan to infiltrate gangster networks and send intelligence back to India.
