Dhurandhar Part 1 Expected To Be 3 Hours 32 Minutes Long: Ranveer Singh Starrer Will Be Bollywood’s Longest Film Since Jodhaa Akbar

Get ready for a massive cinematic experience. Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar Part 1 is expected to have a runtime of around 3 hours and 32 minutes. This makes it one of the longest Bollywood films in recent history. The exact runtime will be confirmed once the Central Board of Film Certification passes the film in the coming days.

The film tells a vast story, and hence the lengthy runtime is justified. Director Aditya Dhar is known as an expert storyteller. His previous works, like Uri: The Surgical Strike and productions like Article 370, Dhoom Dhaam, and Baramulla, always ensure a lot is happening without feeling stretched. Dhurandhar will follow the same storytelling pattern, with audiences gripped from start to finish.

Bollywood’s Longest Film Since Jodhaa Akbar

If Dhurandhar indeed has a runtime of 3 hours and 32 minutes, it will be Bollywood’s longest film since Jodhaa Akbar, released in 2008. The Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer was 3 hours and 34 minutes long. This is a big achievement for any modern Bollywood film.

In the last 25 years, there have been only 24 Hindi films with a runtime of more than 3 hours. Dhurandhar will be the sixth-longest Bollywood film since 2000. It comes after LOC Kargil at 4 hours 7 minutes, Lagaan at 3 hours 44 minutes, Salaam-E-Ishq at 3 hours 36 minutes, Mohabbatein at 3 hours 35 minutes, and Jodhaa Akbar at 3 hours 34 minutes.

Why The Long Runtime Works

Long runtimes can be challenging, but when done right, they can create epic cinematic experiences. Films like Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar, and, more recently, Animal have proven that audiences are willing to sit through longer films if the content is engaging.

Director Aditya Dhar has shown his ability to keep audiences engaged. Uri: The Surgical Strike was a gripping watch throughout its runtime. With Dhurandhar being a two-part saga, the storytelling scope is even bigger. The film reportedly tells the story of Indian intelligence operations, which requires a proper setup and detailed narrative.

The Two-Part Strategy

Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar is being made as a two-part saga. This approach allows the makers to do justice to the scale of the story. Part 1 is set to release on December 5, 2025. The second part is expected to follow in 2026, though the makers have kept this as a strategic surprise.

The censor certification process has already begun. Once the CBFC clears the film, the exact runtime will be officially announced. Until then, the 3 hours 32 minutes figure remains the expected length.
