Just hours before Dhurandhar The Revenge rolled out in theatres on March 18, 2026, the film’s multi-language release plan hit an unexpected speed bump. While the excitement around Aditya Dhar’s big-ticket sequel has been steadily building for months, last-minute certification timelines ended up reshuffling premieres for two dubbed versions, even as the Hindi release stayed on track.
Latest Update: Malayalam And Kannada Premieres Move To March 19
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Dhurandhar The Revenge began its Hindi premieres at 5 pm on March 18, 2026, but the Malayalam and Kannada versions did not make their scheduled paid preview windows and were pushed to March 19, 2026.
As per information shared by a source, the delay stemmed from the film’s certification process with the CBFC. The source said, “Dhurandhar The Revenge was submitted to the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) two weeks back, and multiple screenings with the censor board took place over the aforementioned period. There were demands from the members for excessive cuts and muting of cuss words, despite the ask for an A-certificate. The negotiations between CBFC members and team Dhurandhar continued for two weeks, though they have been granted some leeway from what was suggested before. It was the makers who fought and negotiated to deliver an uncompromised product.”
The same source added that the Hindi certificate came through at the last minute, which then impacted DCP delivery timelines, and the regional certificates for the dubbed versions were still pending when theatres were preparing for premieres. As a result, the Tamil and Telugu preview shows were also pushed back, with the source noting that those versions began at 9 pm instead of the originally expected 5 pm slot, while Hindi shows continued as planned.
Importantly for ticket-holders, the delayed dubbed shows were not cancelled. The available screens instead played the Hindi version with subtitles, and the source added that refunds were to be offered to audiences who did not wish to switch to the Hindi show. Most of the South language shows stand cancelled and refund has been issued to audience.

What Dhurandhar The Revenge Is So Far
Dhurandhar The Revenge is directed by Aditya Dhar and features Ranveer Singh in the lead. The film is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, and it arrived in theatres on March 18, 2026, with Malayalam and Kannada versions landing a day later due to the certification-linked delay.
