Kartik Aaryan has officially crossed a major milestone on his next big-screen outing Naagzilla. The fantasy comedy has completed its shoot, setting the stage for an all-important post-production phase where the film’s spectacle and visual world will be put together.
The final leg of filming took place in Mumbai, and the unit wrapped with the kind of emotions that come only after an ambitious, long-drawn production finally clicks into “pack up” mode.
Naagzilla Completes Filming, Post-Production Begins
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that the last day of the shoot was March 16. Kartik Aaryan was not on the floor that day, as he had wrapped his portions a few days earlier. Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba filmed with the remaining cast members in Mumbai, and the set erupted in celebration when he called it a wrap.
A source described the moment in detail: “March 16 was the final day of the shoot of Naagzilla. Lead actor Kartik Aaryan was not present as he had completed his portions a few days ago. Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba shot with the other actors in Mumbai. There was jubilation on the sets when the director shouted, ‘Pack up’. At the same time, the unit was also disheartened to know that their adventurous journey has come to an end.”
With filming now complete, the film moves into post-production, a crucial stage for a fantasy-led entertainer. As the same source put it, “Now that the shoot is completed, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s complete focus would be on post-production and ensuring that their labour of love turns out to be an exciting and fascinating piece of cinema for the audiences.”
What We Know About Naagzilla So Far
Naagzilla is produced by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films. The film is positioned as a fantasy comedy, with Kartik headlining as a shape-shifting naag. The cast information also includes Preity Mukhundhan, who is set to make her Bollywood debut with the film. Ravi Kishan has also been associated with the project as the antagonist.
The makers have announced that Naagzilla will release in cinemas on Independence Day 2026.
Kartik Aaryan’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Kartik was last seen in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion (2024), a performance-driven film that added a new dimension to his filmography. Before that, he headlined Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023) and Shehzada (2023), both of which kept him firmly in the mainstream conversation across genres.
On the pipeline front, Kartik is also set to reunite with Karan Johar after their first collaboration, with Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri slated for 2025. He is also expected to begin work on a Kabir Khan-directed sports drama inspired by kickboxing prodigy Tajamul Islam, marking another collaboration between the actor and the director after Chandu Champion.
