Get ready for Ranveer Singh‘s most violent film yet. The trailer of Dhurandhar was launched in Mumbai on Tuesday, November 18, and it promises a blood-soaked cinematic experience. Directed by Aditya Dhar, who made the blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike, the film is inspired by incredible true events and introduces key characters with graphic visuals that set a gripping tone. The trailer showcases an ensemble cast including Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Sanjay Dutt in powerful roles.
A Hyper Violent World Based On True Events
The segue into the hyper-violent world of Dhurandhar is shocking right from the start. Arjun Rampal plays an ISI agent named Major Iqbal, whose introduction is enough to make viewers squirm. R Madhavan’s Indian intelligence agent Ajay Sanyal, modeled on India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, is seen next. His character gives the biggest clue for the film’s world as he is heard saying, “We must infiltrate the very core of terrorism in Pakistan.” Akshaye Khanna’s Rehman Dakait and Sanjay Dutt’s SP Chaudhary Aslam are introduced next, with Ranveer Singh coming in at the end as he delivers a powerful dialogue.
Dhurandhar is rumored to be based on the life of Major Mohit Sharma, who went undercover as Iftikhar and infiltrated Hizbul Mujahideen in the early 2000s. After Madhavan’s look in the film was revealed, it was confirmed that he is playing a character based on Ajit Doval. In Dhurandhar, he is introduced as the man behind the scenes who is pulling all the strings. The film’s trailer is soaked in crimson, indicating the intense action and drama that audiences can expect.
Ranveer Singh Returns To Lead Role After Two Years
Ranveer Singh has not appeared in any leading roles since 2023’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The actor was seen reprising his role as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s cop film Singham Again, and he played a cameo as a fictional version of himself in Aryan Khan’s show The Bads of Bollywood. With Dhurandhar, Ranveer returns to the big screen in a full-fledged leading role, and the trailer suggests this could be one of his most intense performances yet.
Aditya Dhar’s Comeback After Six Years
Aditya Dhar is returning to direction six years after his debut directorial, Uri: The Surgical Strike, which won him a National Award for Best Director and launched Vicky Kaushal into superstardom. In the last few years, Aditya has written and produced films like Article 370, Dhoom Dhaam, and Baramulla. His return to the director’s chair with Dhurandhar has created massive excitement among movie fans who are eager to see what he delivers this time.
