The Student of the Year franchise, initiated by Karan Johar in 2012, introduced talents like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra. Seven years later, the franchise expanded with Student of the Year 2 in 2019, directed by Puneet Malhotra.
The sequel featured Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria alongside Tiger Shroff. Now, four years on, the high school drama is gearing up for another instalment, this time as a web series.

Karan Johar Recently Spoke About SOTY 3 At CIFF 2024
Karan Johar recently disclosed details about Student of the Year 3 during the Cinevesture International Film Festival (CIFF) in Chandigarh. He shared insights into the web series, revealing that Reema Maya, known for her work in Nocturnal Burger, will direct it.
Johar expressed his intention for Maya to have full creative control over the project, stating, “Reema Maya will be directing the digital version of Student of the Year. But it will be her way and definitely not mine because if I’ll enter Reema Maya’s world, then I will make it more of an illusion, which is what her name means. I just wanted it to be her voice. She made it her own series.”
