Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani’s Puja Entertainment is finally seeing better days. Their latest film Mere Husband Ki Biwi had a good theatrical run last week. Jackky also celebrated his first wedding anniversary with Rakul Preet Singh. However, their biggest relief is the end of their long-running dispute with Netflix.
Did Netflix Pay Rs 20 Cr To Vashu Bhagnani?
Sources revealed to Bollywood Hungama that both parties have settled the case, putting an end to their legal battle. “They agreed on a settlement. Netflix has paid a big amount to close the matter. The exact figure isn’t confirmed, but it’s believed to be over Rs 20 crore,” an insider shared.
About Their Feud
The feud started in September 2024 when the Bhagnanis accused Netflix of cheating and not paying Rs 47.37 crore for the OTT rights of Mission Raniganj, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and Hero No 1. They even took the case to Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
At the time, EOW’s Senior Inspector Ravindra Avhad said, “Netflix owes Rs 47.37 crore to Vashu Bhagnani. But they are not cooperating. We sent two summonses, but they didn’t appear. They haven’t responded to our letters. The Bhagnanis came to us in April, we recorded their statements and collected all documents. Netflix kept asking for time but never showed up. They only send lower-level staff, but Monika Shergill (Netflix India’s Content Head) should be the one appearing.”
Netflix denied all allegations and said, “These claims are completely baseless. Infact, Puja Entertainment owes Netflix money. We have a strong history of working with the Indian creative industry and are cooperating with authorities to resolve the dispute.”
