Did Varun Dhawan Misbehave With His Female Co-Stars? Baby John Actor Recalls Viral Moments Of Alia & Kiara, Calls Them ‘Harmless Fun’

Varun Dhawan responded to criticism about his playful behaviour with female co-stars, clarifying that they were planned and meant to be fun.

Varun Dhawan has responded to online criticism about his playful behaviour with female co-stars, including Kiara Advani and Alia Bhatt. The actor faced backlash after viral videos showed him giving Kiara a cheek kiss during a photoshoot and touching Alia’s belly at a live event. Some viewers questioned whether he was crossing boundaries.

During a recent chat with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Varun addressed these accusations directly and called it ‘harmless fun’.

He explained that his playful nature is part of who he is, but he always makes sure that no one feels ‘uncomfortable’. He also clarified that such moments are often planned and not spontaneous.

Here’s What Varun Dhawan Said

Varun pointed out that his fun attitude is not limited to his female co-stars. The actor said, “Chhedam-chhaadi, if it is done in a happy space, a good space, whether it is a man or a woman… I have fun with my male co-stars as well, but nobody mentions that.” He made it clear that he treats everyone the same, regardless of gender.

Speaking about the kiss with Kiara Advani, Varun shared that it was planned as part of a digital cover shoot. “It was planned. Both Kiara and I posted that clip. It was for a digital cover, and they wanted some movement and action, so we planned that,” Varun said.

Varun Claims It’s In His Nature To Have ‘Fun’

Varun also recalled an unplanned incident during the promotion of Jug Jugg Jeeyo. He remembered trying to push Kiara into a pool while holding her waist, with Kiara asking him to stop. “That I did on purpose. It was all in good fun. It wasn’t planned. That’s just my nature, I guess,” he admitted.

Varun also reacted to the viral video with Alia Bhatt, where he was seen touching her belly at a live event. The actor defended his actions and said, “I did it in fun. It wasn’t flirting. We’re friends.” He assured that there was no ill intent behind the gesture, describing it as a playful moment between friends.

Varun and Alia have been close friends since their debut in Student of the Year and have continued their successful on-screen partnership in films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, and Kalank.
