Mika Singh Calls Out Diljit Dosanjh, Says He Promoted Hania Aamir’s Sardaar Ji 3 But Not Border 2

Mika Singh has reignited the conversation around Diljit Dosanjh’s promotional choices, and his criticism is pointed. The singer has accused Diljit of giving visibility to Sardaar Ji 3, which featured Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, while failing to push Border 2 with the same energy despite it being one of his major Hindi film appearances.

Mika Singh Questions Diljit’s Border 2 Visibility

Framing it as a lack of support for a significant Hindi project, Mika said, “I could be wrong, but I feel that when Border 2 came out, Diljit paaji did not promote it even one per cent. He didn’t even thank Sunny paaji one per cent,” before further adding, “I have never seen Diljit say, ‘It is a big thing that my film with Sunny Deol is coming.’ He never spoke about Border 2. When the film came out, and even afterwards, I didn’t see him post about it. And Main Vaapas Aaunga was also released, but he didn’t put up any post. He made only one post about his film in which there was a Pakistani artist.”

The remark has drawn attention because Border 2 was mounted as a major Hindi war drama directed by Anurag Singh and fronted by Sunny Deol, with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty in key roles. The film was released in January 2026, which is why Mika’s criticism is centered on how little he believes Diljit amplified it during and after its release cycle.

Hania Aamir And Sardaar Ji 3 Became The Flashpoint

Mika’s argument became sharper when he brought up Sardaar Ji 3, the Punjabi film that paired Diljit with Hania Aamir and Neeru Bajwa. He argued that Diljit did make room on his platforms for that film, and that contrast is what appears to have bothered him most.

“The only one he posted was about his film with the Pakistani heroine. Neeru Bajwa is also in that film, but there was no mention of Neeru Bajwa. I feel you should promote everything,” Mika said.

He then added, “I don’t understand this. Why don’t you promote Bollywood when you work in Bollywood? Then you say, ‘I don’t need Bollywood,’ but you work in Bollywood. I am saying these things to him as a brother. Border 2 is one of the biggest films for our country. It is a film about Hindustan. Why don’t you post about it? You can check his Instagram and see if there is even one video where he has promoted Border 2,” Mika concluded.

The Hania Aamir connection had already made Sardaar Ji 3 a politically charged title in 2025. The film released overseas in June 2025 and remained at the center of debate because it did not secure a theatrical release in India.

Diljit Dosanjh’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Diljit’s recent career arc has placed him in a uniquely visible position across both Punjabi entertainment and mainstream Hindi cinema. In 2025, Sardaar Ji 3 kept him in headlines for reasons beyond the film itself, with its casting and release strategy driving much of the public conversation.

His last release was Punjab ’95 has become one of the most closely watched titles in his lineup. The project has attracted sustained attention because of its subject and the scrutiny around its release journey, making it a key film in Diljit’s current phase as an actor. Film was released on Zee5 and was pulled out in couple of days.

That broader context explains why Mika’s comments have struck a nerve. For an artiste balancing regional superstardom, national visibility and politically sensitive narratives, even a single promotional choice can quickly become part of a larger public debate.
