The Big Cine Expo is gearing up for its much-awaited 7th edition, set to be held this year in Mumbai. This annual event has become a key gathering for cinema lovers and industry professionals, from theatre owners and design consultants to equipment manufacturers and project managers.
The expo celebrates everything that goes into making cinema an unforgettable experience, and this year promises to be extra special.
Dinesh Vijan To Be Felicitated As 2024’s Most Successful Producer At 7th Big Cine Expo
One of the most exciting highlights of the event is the felicitation of 2024’s most successful producer, Dinesh Vijan. Known for his incredible streak of hit films this year, Vijan will be honoured for his contributions to the industry at the expo.
His films Teri Baaton Main Aisa Uljha Jiya, Munjya, and the box office-smashing Stree 2 have been lauded not just for their commercial success but also for injecting much-needed energy into the exhibition sector.
A source revealed to Bollywood Hungama, “All the theatrical films of Dinesh Vijan this year – Teri Baaton Main Aisa Uljha Jiya, Munjya and above all, Stree 2 – have been huge hits. Stree 2 especially has gone on to become a blockbuster of epic proportions. Even the other two films did more than what was accepted and these movies gave oxygen to the exhibition sector.”
They added, “In short, woh cheez ko haath lagate hai, woh sona ban jaati hai. As a result, it is only fitting that he should be felicitated for his services to the exhibitors, industry and the audience at large.”
Ramesh Sippy To Be Honoured For 50-Year Legacy Of Sholay
The prestigious ceremony will take place on September 30, the first day of the Big Cine Expo. But that’s not all. The same evening, the IMAX Big Cine Awards 2024 will also take place, where legendary filmmaker Ramesh Sippy will be honoured with a Special Achievement Award.
This recognition comes as Sholay celebrates its 50-year legacy, a film that has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. Sippy will also engage in a fireside chat on October 1, sharing his insights and stories about the iconic film.
This year’s Big Cine Expo will build on the momentum from previous years. Last year’s event, held in Chennai, saw exclusive footage of Boney Kapoor’s Maidaan being screened, while the 2022 edition treated attendees to sneak peeks of Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
Due to COVID-19, the expo wasn’t held in 2020 or 2021, but it bounced back in 2022 and has continued to be a major hub for cinematic celebration and innovation.
