Jr NTR has stepped into his birthday week with exactly the kind of cinematic thunder fans were waiting for. The first glimpse of Dragon, his much anticipated collaboration with Prashanth Neel, arrived on May 20, 2026, and instantly positioned the film as a raw, violent action drama.
The glimpse introduces Jr NTR in a rugged new avatar, placing him in a brutal world shaped by power, crime and bloodshed. One striking frame shows the actor standing on a mountain amid a pile of dead bodies. The makers had earlier built anticipation with Jr NTR’s social media post, where he wrote, “HIS REIGN… HIS SOIL… JUNE 11, 2027… IT IS…. #NTRNeel”.
Dragon Glimpse Puts Jr Ntr In A Ruthless Action World
The four minute plus glimpse opens with references to the opium trade in pre and post independent India before shifting into a dense lineup of characters and conflicts. Jr NTR is presented as a ruthless killer in a land controlled by villains competing for dominance over the trade.
Prashanth Neel, best known for the KGF films and Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire, returns to a morally charged universe where violence is both atmosphere and language. The video also ends with a power packed introduction of Anil Kapoor’s cop character, adding another strong face to the ensemble.
The film features Jr NTR alongside Anil Kapoor, Rukmini Vasanth, Biju Menon, Khushbu Sundar, Guru Somasundaram, Rajeev Kanakala, Ashutosh Rana, Anshuman Pushkar and Sidhant Gupta. Dragon is jointly produced by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts. The pan India film will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on June 11, 2027.

Dragon is being shaped as a period action drama with a crime driven backdrop. The premise suggested by the glimpse places Jr NTR’s character at the centre of a harsh, lawless terrain, where survival and dominance seem inseparable from violence.
The title reveal and first look have given the film a sharper identity after months of anticipation around the Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel pairing. With Anil Kapoor’s presence adding a major Hindi cinema crossover element, the project is designed for a wide theatrical footprint.
From Rrr To War 2, Jr Ntr Charges Into His Next Big Scale Move
Jr NTR’s recent big screen phase has been defined by scale and reinvention. He played Komaram Bheem in SS Rajamouli’s RRR in 2022, a global breakout that widened his reach beyond Telugu cinema. He followed it with Koratala Siva’s Devara: Part 1 in 2024.
In 2025, Jr NTR made his Hindi cinema debut with War 2, co starring Hrithik Roshan in the YRF Spy Universe. His next confirmed theatrical release is Dragon, directed by Prashanth Neel.
