Drishyam 4 Confirmed: Antony Perumbavoor Says Mohanlal’s Georgekutty Will Return After Drishyam 3’s Blockbuster Run

It was the kind of awards-night reveal that instantly changes the conversation around a franchise. As cheers rang out at the Mazhavil Manorama Awards, Antony Perumbavoor gave Drishyam fans the update they were hoping for, confirming that Georgekutty’s story is not over and that a fourth film is officially on the way.

The producer made that promise plainly during the event, assuring audiences that Drishyam 4 will happen. In his words, “‘ദൃശ്യം’ പരമ്പരയ്ക്ക് അടുത്തൊരു ഭാഗം കൂടി ഉറപ്പായും ഉണ്ടാകും,” adding, “തന്റെ ഉറപ്പാണ്.” With that, the future of one of Malayalam cinema’s most durable thriller franchises was no longer a matter of fan expectation, but a confirmed next move.

Antony Perumbavoor Confirms Another Chapter

The announcement comes at a moment when the series is operating from a position of enormous strength. Drishyam 3 completed a blockbuster theatrical run and finished with an approximate lifetime worldwide gross of Rs 237.60 crore, a result that reaffirmed the franchise’s extraordinary hold over audiences. That commercial force has now fed directly into the next phase, making the leap to Drishyam 4 feel like a continuation of momentum rather than a nostalgic extension.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 brought back Mohanlal as Georgekutty alongside Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil, once again placing family, fear and calculation at the centre of the drama. Across three films, the franchise has built a rare identity, combining mainstream box office power with a hero whose greatest weapon is his mind. That is also what makes the latest update especially interesting now. While the Hindi adaptation has moved toward closure with the title Drishyam: The Conclusion, the original Malayalam franchise has decisively kept its doors open. Georgekutty still has another chapter to live through.

Why Drishyam 4 Matters In Mohanlal’S Current Phase

For Mohanlal, the confirmation of Drishyam 4 lands at a particularly significant point in his career. In recent years, his filmography has balanced star-driven commercial vehicles with collaborations that lean on legacy, reinvention and audience trust. Releases such as Hridayapoorvam in 2025, followed by Patriot and then Drishyam 3 in 2026, have kept him firmly in the centre of Malayalam cinema’s theatrical conversation, but Drishyam occupies a different space because it ties his stardom to one of the industry’s most recognisable modern characters.

That is why a fourth instalment matters beyond franchise value alone. Mohanlal is already moving through a packed stretch of confirmed projects, including films with Priyadarshan, Sathyan Anthikad, Dileesh Pothan and Jeethu Joseph, with Athimanoharam scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026. Yet Drishyam 4 stands apart within that lineup because it arrives with built-in emotional equity, proven box office muscle and a character audiences continue to follow with unwavering interest. In a career phase defined by both volume and legacy, Georgekutty remains one of Mohanlal’s most powerful constants.
