We have some worrying news coming in from the sets of one of the most anticipated biopics of the year. The shooting of the film Eetha has been officially called off for now. This decision was taken after the leading lady Shraddha Kapoor suffered a painful injury on the sets. This is a major setback for the team as the film had just gone on floors recently.
The incident took place while the actress was shooting for a high energy dance number. Shraddha Kapoor was reportedly performing a Lavani dance sequence for the film when she fractured the toe of her left foot. The song is composed by the famous duo Ajay-Atul and required very fast footwork. The actress was wearing a heavy Nauvari saree and traditional jewelry, which made the movements even more difficult. While doing a specific step to the beats of the dholki, she put all her weight on her left foot and lost her balance.
Trying To Shoot Through The Pain
Despite the painful injury, Laxman Utekar and his team tried to find a way to keep the work going. The director immediately cancelled the schedule in Nashik, but Shraddha Kapoor wanted to continue working. She suggested that they could shoot some close up scenes that did not require dancing or much movement.
The team then moved back to Mumbai and started filming emotional sequences at a set in Madh Island. The actress tried her best to shoot for a couple of days, but the pain only got worse. It became impossible for her to continue, and the makers finally decided to stop the shoot completely. The unit will now regroup after two weeks once she has recovered fully.
A Challenging Role For Shraddha
This film is very special for Shraddha Kapoor as she is playing the role of the legendary Tamasha artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. It is a very demanding role that requires a lot of preparation. The actress has reportedly put on more than 15 kilos to look like the character.
Apart from the physical transformation, she has also been training hard to learn the body language and dance style of the folk artist. The Lavani dance form is known for its energy and rhythm, and Shraddha was giving it her all when this unfortunate accident happened. Fans are now wishing her a speedy recovery so she can get back to the sets soon.
