Shraddha Kapoor and Randeep Hooda have completed the Pune shooting schedule of their upcoming film Eetha, marking the milestone with an on-set cake cutting that has since travelled widely across social media. The wrap moment, filmed with crew members gathered around, is the clearest current update from the production as the team moves closer to finishing principal photography.
In the viral clip, Kapoor and Hooda are seen in casual wear as they cut a large chocolate cake that reads, “Pune Wrap, Eetha.” After the cake-cutting, Kapoor is also seen feeding a child on the set. While the makers have not issued a separate statement with a final shoot end date, the Pune schedule completion indicates the film is progressing through its planned production calendar.
Pune Schedule Wrapped As Eetha Heads Toward Completion
The development comes as Eetha continues to be positioned as a film based on the life and work of Marathi folk artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar, known for her contributions to Lavani and Tamasha, central to Maharashtra’s folk performance traditions. The current update around the Pune schedule wrap follows reports that the film went on floors in 2025 and is targeting a 2026 release.
About Eetha/ Vithabai
The film is based on the remarkable journey of one of Maharashtra’s most renowned Tamasha performers, Vithabai Narayangaonkar. Vithabai was born in Pandharpur, in the Solapur district, in July 1935. She came from a family with a strong tradition of performing traditional folk songs. She started her career as a young girl and later rose to fame in the Tamasha and Lavani theatre scenes.
She was known for her powerful stage presence, expressive voice, and exuberant performances. Vithabai received two President’s Awards in 1957 and 1990 for her contributions to Indian folk culture.
Shraddha Kapoor’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Shraddha Kapoor’s most recent major theatrical release in the recent times were Stree 2 with Rajkummar Rao and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023), co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. Since then, she has remained selective with screen work while maintaining a high public profile through brand commitments and appearances.
Her next big confirmed film outing is tied to Eetha, which is currently in production and is expected to arrive in 2026.
