Coronavirus pandemic has hampered the entertainment industry. While some filmmakers have moved to OTT with their films. Big budget films like Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi and Ranveer Singh’s ’83, among others are still waiting for the theatres to reopen. Everyone is waiting for a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel. Theatres might begin to reopen by the end of 2021 with all of the Covid safeguards in place.
The year 2021 will showcase some of the most significant Bollywood projects ever. In the following months, several of the Bollywood upcoming movies in the pipeline by great directors will finally get a proper theatrical release. After a long absence, it’s finally time to mark your calendars for the most anticipated releases of the year.
But the question is, when all these films release, which film will come out as the biggest hit at the box office. Let’s take a look at some of the upcoming releases which will compete each other in the ciname halls.
Sooryavanshi:
This Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer has been in our watch list already, we are all eagerly waiting for the film to be out in theaters and see the magic of footfalls in cinema halls back. Directed by Rohit Shetty Sooryavanshi is another addition to his cop universe.
Last year, Sooryavanshi was one of the most well-received trailers after the launch.
83:
This biopic of Kapil Dev and other cricketers featuring Ranveer Singh with many other talented actors have to be in the list of upcoming blockbusters for sure. While directed by Kabir Khan 83 is based on the life of cricketer Kapil Dev.
It is still highly anticipated as it approaches its release in 2021. The film 83 tells the narrative of India’s maiden World Cup victory in 1983. In the film, Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev, the leader of the underdog squad, while Deepika Padukone plays Kapil’s wife.
Laal Singh Chaddha:
Mr. Perfectionist is coming up again with a classic film which is the Hindi remake of popular Hollywood film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. As much as the original film was loved by the audience, we expect Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan to give us the same.
In the Hindi adaptation, Aamir Khan plays Tom Hank.
Bell Bottom:
Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom teaser is already bringing back the nostalgia and we can’t wait to watch this film on theaters already. This is the first film that completed shoot in the lockdown and has been in our future watch list.
Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, Bell Bottom, apart from Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Huma Qureshi, Vaani Kapoor and Lara Dutta.

All these upcoming films with superstars as lead are a tough competition for one another. Only time will tell which one of these movies will be the biggest hit at the box office.
