Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Raj Films are integral part of each other. There association started from early 90’s with ‘Darr’ and since then they have delivered one Blockbuster after another. YRF had rough year at box office in 2022 and SRK had his lean patch followed by 4 years break. They came together with ‘Pathaan’ and wrote all new records in India and overseas.
We all know that Shah Rukh is gearing up for his next release ‘Jawan’ which is produced under his home banner Red Chillies Entertainment. Film is directed by Atlee who gave numerous blockbusters down south. It has massive cast. Deepika Padukone, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover. Sanjay Dutt and south superstar Vijay might be seen in cameo.
Latest news is that it will be none other than YRF who will distribute the film in overseas market. SRK has entrusted the best company to make sure widest reach and excellent distribution strategy for his next biggie. It has to be noted that YRF released ‘Pathaan’ in 100 plus countries which was widest release ever.
Red Chillies Entertainment will be distributing the film in India as company’s COO Gaurav Varma comes from distribution background. He was with UTV/Disney during SRK’s ‘Chennai Express’ and has been with RCE for last 8 years.
Release Date Drama and Truth Behind It:
We reached out to people close to the film who are busy shooting it on hectic pace for last few months. They were categorical that makers are working day and night to bring the film on scheduled release date of 2nd June. But there is a catch!
Film will finish shouting by April 10th which is exactly 50 days away from release. In past too Shah Rukh has achieved quality product without any compromise due to advantage of all VFX and post facilities under his own company. But this time around challenge is to live upto unprecedented hype post historic success of ‘Pathaan’.
A source said on condition of anonymity, “Shah Rukh always believed in providing world class entertainment and he will NOT compromise a bit just for sake of one particular release date. He has delivered biggest blockbuster on non holiday so any date or holiday is immaterial but highest quality standards are must.”
Source further added, “One thing is certain that cards will be kept close to chest and no official announcement or teaser or date confirmation is going to come anytime soon. Media will have good time speculating this or that and lot of underground PR will be done via usual suspects to keep things in check.”
But one things is almost certain that ‘Jawan’ will not be releasing on 2nd June going by the sources ‘as of now’. Though dates have been looked in September or October but even later date in June or July can’t be ruled out.
