The Great Indian Rescue is a Hindi film based on the true story of Jaswant Singh Gill, a former additional chief mining engineer who saved the lives of 65 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal.The movie chronicles the courage of a mining engineer and a police inspector who teamed up to rescue 64 miners who were trapped in the Raniganj Coalfields. The film stars Akshay Kumar as Jaswant Singh Gill, Parineeti Chopra, Rajesh Sharma, and Gaurav Prateek. The movie follows the remarkable journey of Jaswant Singh Gill, an Amritsar-based Chief Mining Engineer, who helped in the rescue of people when a coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal, was flooded.
