EXCLUSIVE: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Over Eid Holiday 4 Day Weekend Collects As Much As Fighter Collected On Day 2, BMCM A Massive Failure

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan earned a disappointing Rs 42.07 crore over 4 days, while Fighter surpassed this with Rs 65.80 crore nett in just 2 days.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, faced a rough start at the box office, hinting at a bleak future for the film. The movie amassed a total of Rs 40 crore over four days, marking a disappointing performance. Comparatively, its four-day earnings stand on par with just the second-day collection of the Hrithik Roshan-led Fighter, released earlier this year.

Despite considerable anticipation, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan struggled to surpass Fighter‘s impressive numbers. Fighter had raked in Rs 42 crore in just its second day of release.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan hit theatres on April 10 amidst considerable buzz. However, the turnout was underwhelming, with many theatres witnessing vacant seats. Additionally, online criticism highlighted alleged corporate malpractice associated with the film. On its opening day, the movie managed to pull in an average of Rs 16.07 crore. Alongside Kumar and Shroff, the film also features Alaya F, Manushi Chhillar, and Sonakshi Sinha.

BMCM 4 Days Box Office Collection

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan had a lacklustre start at the Indian box office, pulling in a mere 16.07 crore nett on its opening day. Despite the high expectations for box office success, particularly given the significance of Eid for Bollywood releases, the film failed to meet projections.

The film’s producers touted a global gross of 36 crore on day one but withheld specific figures for the Indian market.

Unfortunately, the film’s performance continued to decline over the weekend. On the second day, it experienced a steep drop of over 55%, managing to collect only around 7.50 crore nett. Day three saw a slight uptick with 8.75 crore nett, but it still fell short of its opening day figures.

Even with a ‘buy one ticket, get one free’ offer on the fourth day, the film’s earnings only marginally increased to 9.75 crore nett.

After four days, the film had amassed a total of 42.07 crore nett, failing to cross the 50 crore mark over the extended weekend. This underperformance marks Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as one of the biggest recent box office disasters.

Day 1: 16.07 cr

Day 2: 7.50 cr expected

Day 3: 8.75 cr

Day 4: 9.75 cr

Total: 42.07 crore nett

Fighter Box Office Collection

Fighter graced the screens as the inaugural major release of the year. Under the direction of Siddharth Anand, renowned for his previous successes with War and Pathaan, the film boasted a stellar cast including Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor.

The box office figures for the first two days of its premiere demonstrated its immense popularity:

Day 1 saw the film amass Rs 24.60 crore, setting the stage for a promising run. Day 2 witnessed a surge in ticket sales, with an astounding Rs 41.20 crore pouring in. Film managed good 220 crore nett lifetime business though remained average at box office due to high cost.

Released on January 25, coinciding with the Republic Day holiday, Fighter‘s second-day collection alone is better than the 4-day collections of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s BMCM.
