Known for making social comedy films, Bollywood’s top director Rajkumar Hirani is undoubtedly the most successful director in Hindi film industry. He had taken a break after his last blockbuster film, Sanju, which not only made several records at the box office but also garnered critical acclaim.
He has recently been in news for discussing his film with Shah Rukh Khan. The film is reported to be based on immigration and also co-stars Badla actress, Taapsee Pannu. Recently, Baadshah had hinted at doing this project on Twitter, while doing an #AskSRK session.
Now, Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learnt about Rajkumar Hirani’s entire line up of projects! These projects are in different stages of pitching and development and only time will tell which will get bankrolled first. Here are the details –
SRK and Rajkumar Hirani, reportedly discussed two film ideas – a two-hero film on the lines of Munnabhai franchise and other being the immigration story, set against the backdrop of Canada. The actor was kicked about the immigration story and has apparently given a final nod. The film is a social comedy, also starring Taapsee Pannu. It’s written by Kanika Dhillon, with Abhijat Joshi. They’re planning to kick-start the project later this year, as soon as the actor wraps Pathan and before starting Atlee’s next.

The director has also been in talks on a film with Ranbir Kapoor, for a social comedy drama. Hirani had discussed the plot with the actor, while working on Sanju. This film is not a sequel to PK, contrary to the reported rumours.
“He is definitely doing one more film with Ranbir, and it’s just a matter of time. Right now, all energies are on developing and taking his next on floors. Once that’s out of system, will the Ranbir film come to the forefront. The actor has already said a yes to the idea, and will adjust the dates of Hirani, as and when, the director is ready to roll,” revealed a source.
Rajkumar Hirani has also acquired the rights and discussing a cricket biopic with Vicky Kaushal. This film on a legendary cricketer was earlier, being produced by Fox Star Studios.
Rajkumar Hirani has also collaborated with South’s leading film studio, Lyca Productions which is founded by Allirajah SubasKaran of Lyca Group, a British multinational corporation. They had bankrolled mega-budget films like 2.0 starring Rajnikanth and Akshay Kumar, Directed by Shankar. It is yet to be seen, if this project will be directed by Rajkumar Hirani or just produced under his banner.
The director is also planning to produce a web series for a leading OTT platform, under his banner Rajkumar Hirani Films. The subject is being kept under the wraps, since the story is in the development phase.
