Now according to some rumours, the movie which was made in the budget of 38 cr was sold to Amazon Prime Video at 62 cr.
Recently, when asked director Shoojit Sircar had shown his interest in releasing the film on the digital platform. “As a filmmaker, I’d want to see my film open in the theatres, but the situation today is unlike anything anyone had ever experienced. So, I’m open to a digital release if need be,” he said.
Well, seems like this budget comes as a positive collection for the film. Afterall the makers have sold it as a profitable business with Amazon as it could be more risky if released in theaters.
Set in Uttar Pradesh the film is on a love-hate relationship between a tenant and his landlord. Gulabo Sitabo is produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar and written by Juhi Chaturvedi.
