Sunny Deol, who is currently basking in the boxoffice success of his latest release Border 2, has three other films in the pipeline — Gabru, Ramayana: Part I, and Lahore 1947. Now the actor has officially signed his next film.
Sunny’s next film will be co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment and Ghajini filmmaker AR Murugadoss. Balaji Ganesh helms direction for the project. Balaji previously assisted Murugadoss on his Salman Khan starrer Sikandar.
Reportedly billed as an action thriller, the untitled project also stars Jyothika as the female lead. Jyothika was last seen in the Netflix series Dabba Cartel, which premiered in February 2025.
The film will go on floors next month, in February 2026. More details about the project are yet to be announced. According to some reports, the films has been titled Anthony. Film is action cop thriller and set in the world of police force.
The film also marks Sunny’s maiden collaboration with Farhan Akhtar. Notably, their fathers — Dharmendra and Javed Akhtar — worked together on many films, delivering some iconic hits like Yaadon ki Baraat, Seeta aur Geeta, and Sholay, among others.
Upcoming Films Of Sunny Deol
Sunny Deol’s latest film is Border 2, which is based on Operation Chengiz Khan, that started right before the Kargil War and formation of East Pakistan/Bangladesh.
The Anurag Singh directorial is a sequel to the 1997-starrer directed by JP Dutta. It features Sunny Deol in the role of Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler and stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty as the male leads. Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Ananya Singh and Medha Rana play the female leads.
Sunny Deol now has Rajkumar Santoshi and Aamir Khan’s Lahore 1947. The actor also plays the role of Lord Hanuman in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Apart from that, Sunny Deol has announced Jaat sequel but that would still take some time to come around.
