Since advent of Indian Premiere League in 2008, April and May didn’t see numerous massive releases as makers tend to wait for June to set in once mega cricket event gets over. Since 2011, first week of June saw some massive blockbusters at box office throughout the whole decade until 2019. Two years were wasted due to COVID 19 and then last year saw big disappointment in Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj.
Golden First Week Of June And Box Office Glory From 2011 Onwards
The trend started with Salman Khan starrer Ready in 2011 and went on with massive hits like Rowdy Rathore, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Holiday, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Housefull 3 and Bharat.

This Year Spider Man And Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Will Release In Same Golden Week

This year will saw release of Hollywood biggie Spider – Man: Across The Spider Verse and Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films’ Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. Spider – Man is set to open good today with good advance booking numbers and Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan starrer will depend on word of mouth to score. Earlier Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan had this 2nd June release date booked but later film moved on to 7th September.
In years to come, Bollywood should put its best foot forward with one big release at least during this week post IPL which can attract audience in big numbers.
