Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathan started the shoot yesterday but had to halt in April among the rising cases in second wave of coronavirus, followed by Maharashtra lockdown.
The film which is also King Khan’s return to the big screen after a long gap, has been waiting to resume the shoot since then. The film reportedly has a lot of VFX work, post which it’s aiming for an early 2022 release.
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learnt that Yash Raj Films vaccinated the entire crew and their staff yesterday. It has been reported that the Pathan team has begun groundwork and will most probably resume shooting from mid-June.
According to a report in a news portal, the Maharashtra Government has extended the groundwork for the next schedule. This will reportedly help them to get a jump start when they resume shooting in mid-June, provided the restrictions are lifted by then.
There is also a buzz in the industry that the Maharashtra Government will give green signal to shoot after June 15. The team is then planning to shoot in a bio bubble at YRF studio in Mumbai.
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the action film will also star John Abraham in the lead role. Pathan will also have a special appearance by Salman Khan as Tiger where he will help SRK take down the Russian mafia.
Meanwhile, after Pathan, SRK is expected to start Atlee’s project by year end, for which he recently finalised the script. He also has Rajkumar Hirani’s next in his kitty, also starring Taapsee Pannu and has reportedly given a nod to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus musical, Baiju Bawra!
