Farhan Akhtar’s girl-bonding road movie Jee Le Zaraa appears to have encountered a snag. To go with the three female celebrities Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt, it needs three A-listers as heroes. The heroes, on the other hand, show no signs of being chivalrous.
A source close to director Farhan Akhtar says, “It is tough casting the male leads when the female leads are already in place. All the top actors assume the women have meaty roles while the men are mere shadows. Lekin aisa nahin hai. The men in Jee Le Zaraa have very important roles to play. Lekin abb inko kaun samjhaye (who is going to explain to them?).”
Farhan is reportedly looking for three male superstars to couple with his super-ladies. He might wind up playing one of the leads to set an example for other top-tier leading males who are hesitant to be seen with forceful women.
The three ladies in Jee Le Zaraa have strong author-backed roles, and both Zoya and Reema are ensuring that the film pays up to the topic, which is not only women empowerment but also looking at life through the eyes of a female protagonist. According to sources, unlike ZNMD, Jee Le Zaraa would be shot primarily in North India, with the women travelling to various locations around the country.
Jee Le Zaraa (JLZ), directed by Farhan Akhtar, is an all-girl road trip film starring Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Priyanka Chopra. Jee Lee Zaraa is a slice-of-life story told from the perspectives of three women at various periods of their lives. The film, written by Farhan, Reema Kagti, and Zoya Akhtar, is set to be released in 2023 and will begin production early next year.
