Fawad Khan Breaks Silence On His Film ‘The Legend Of Maula Jatt’ Indefinite Postponement In India, Says It Would Be ‘Great’ If It Releases In India, Adds ‘Things Are A Bit Heated Still’

He said that it would be "great" if it releases in India.

Helmed by Bilal Lashari, ‘The Legend Of Maula Jatt’, a Pakistani Punjabi-language action drama film is produced by Ammara Hikmat and Dr. Asad Jamil Khan. It was released on October 13, 2022 and stars Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Abbasi and others.

It’s said to be a remake of the old classic Maula Jatt 1979. Nasir Adeeb and Bilal Lashari have worked on its screenplay. Filmmakers joined hands with the largest media group of Pakistan and one of the key contributors to the renewal of Pakistani cinema. The film has received immense praise locally and internationally.

Its release has been postponed indefinitely in India, which was earlier set on December 30. It has become the first Pakistani film ever to set a new milestone as it has crossed over Rs 200 crore worldwide. Notably, it was released in 25 different countries on 500 + screens.

The latest news is that Fawad has broken silence on India’s indefinite postponement to his film and said that it would be “great” if it releases in India. “That would be great, obviously. If it were to happen, it’s a great way to handshake. It is kind of like those sweets and delights we send across to one another on Eid and Diwali. Films and music is that kind of an exchange. But things are a bit heated still, let’s see. I’ve heard it may release and it may not. So, let us see,” CNN quoted him as saying.

As per PTI, Multiplex chain, Inox, Official had said, “We have been informed by the distributors that the release of the film has been postponed. We were told this two-three days ago. No further date has been shared with us.”
