From PM Narendra Modi To Shah Rukh Khan, See Who Congratulate RRR For Winning Golden Globe Award For Best Original Song ‘Naatu Naatu’

SS Rajamouli’s RRR was nominated in two categories: Best Non-English Language Film and Best Original Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’. As the 80th Golden Globe Awards were held on January 11 (IST), RRR won Best Original Song for ‘Naatu Naatu’.

The Indian song was competing against – ‘Carolina’ (Taylor Swift) from Where the Crawdads Sing, ‘Hold My Hand’ (Lady Gaga) – Top Gun: Maverick, ‘Lift Me Up’ (Rihanna) – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and ‘Ciao Papa’ (Alexandre Desplat) – Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio. The film was also nominated for Best Non-English Language Film but it lost to Argentina’s Argentina, 1985. 

The RRR team including SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani, Jr NTR and Ram Charan represented the film at the ceremony in Los Angeles. Music director MM Keeravani collected the trophy.

Reacting to the achievement by RRR, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “A very special accomplishment! Compliments to @mmkeeravaani, Prem Rakshith, Kaala Bhairava, Chandrabose, @Rahulsipligunj. I also congratulate @ssrajamouli, @tarak9999, @AlwaysRamCharan and the entire team of @RRRMovie. This prestigious honour has made every Indian very proud.”

 

While responding to Rajamouli’s tweet where he lauded the trailer of SRK’s Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “Sir just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu celebrating your win at Golden Globes. Here’s to many more awards & making India so proud!!”

 

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar also tweeted, “The whole country is dancing to #NaatuNaatu today. Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani @ssrajamouli @tarak9999 @AlwaysRamCharan and the entire team of RRR. Proud moment #GoldenGlobes2023.”

 

Rashmika Mandanna wrote, “You did it #RRR so so proud and happy for you @mmkeeravaani sir @ssrajamouli @tarak9999 @AlwaysRamCharan .. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.”

 

Anupam Kher shared, “What a moment for #IndianCinema! Congratulations to the entire team of @RRRMovie! Specially to the masters @mmkeeravaani &. @ssrajamouli! And to our friends @AlwaysRamCharan & #JrNTR! They literally danced into the hearts of audiences worldwide! Jai Ho!😍🇮🇳 #GoldenGlobes2023.”

 

Mahesh Babu congratulated the team and wrote, “Watching the world cheer for an Indian film is a dream come true!! This year couldn’t have started on a better note! Samantha Ruth Prabhu called it the ‘Proudest moment ever’ while Amitabh Bachchan saw it as the ‘most well deserving achievement’.

 

 

Vijay Deverakonda tweeted, “Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani garu on winning best song at the #GoldenGlobes2023 and a shoutout to Prem Rakshit master for the incredible choreography! 🤗❤️ Sitting back and taking a moment to celebrate and absorb what @ssrajamouli sir, @tarak9999 anna @AlwaysRamCharan anna and the entire team of #RRR is doing. This one is special.:) I thank each & every fan across the globe for shaking their leg & making it popular ever since the release🤗#GoldenGlobes.”

 

RRR is a story of two freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharamaraju portrayed by Jr NTR and Ram Charan. The film, which also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, made over Rs 1,200 crore globally.
