Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 became a massive hit in 2023, breaking box office records and drawing fans back to theatres. However, Ameesha Patel, who played Sakina, recently revealed a surprising detail about the film’s climax. She shared that a crucial part of her role was changed without her knowledge during filming.
Ameesha Patel Was Supposed To Kill The Villain As Per Initial Climax
The revelation came when a fan on X (formerly Twitter) asked if Sakina was supposed to kill the villain in the climax.
Patel confirmed and wrote, “YES SAKINA was told that she would be killing the VILLAIN by the director but the climax shoot happened minus my knowledge. Let bygones be bygones. ANIL JI is family and he’s aware of this and I’m sure he too feels bad now. Gadar 2 already created history. Time to move ahead.”
This behind-the-scenes change surprised many fans. Patel also revealed that director Anil Sharma regrets the decision.

Ameesha & Sunny ‘Ghost-Directed’ Key Scenes In Gadar 2
In an earlier interview, Patel shared that she and Sunny Deol had made key changes to Gadar 2. According to her, these adjustments were necessary to keep the story emotionally strong. While she didn’t take full credit, Patel admitted that they “ghost-directed” parts of the movie to maintain its soul.
Despite creative disagreements with Sharma over the years, Patel described their bond as familial. She acknowledged their differences but emphasised mutual respect.
Released on August 11, 2023, Gadar 2 brought back Tara Singh and Sakina after more than two decades. The sequel followed the legacy of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and struck a chord with audiences, mixing nostalgia with gripping drama.
