The trailer of Haddi, a ZEE5 original film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Anurag Kashyap, has been released and it promises to be a gripping tale of revenge and redemption. The film, directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma and Adamya Bhalla, features Nawazuddin as a transgender who rises to the top of the criminal underworld in Delhi NCR, while seeking vengeance for his family who was wronged by a powerful politician, played by Anurag Kashyap.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s first time as a transgender onscreen
Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who is known for his versatile and nuanced performances, has taken up the challenge of portraying a transgender for the first time onscreen. He said that he worked hard on the role and stayed among the transgender community to understand their psyche and emotions. He said that he always thought of himself as playing a female character while shooting for Haddi. He also said that it was mentally and physically exhausting for him to play such a complex character.

Anurag Kashyap as the antagonist
Anurag Kashyap, who has collaborated with Nawazuddin Siddiqui as a director in several acclaimed films such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Raman Raghav 2.0 and Sacred Games, has joined him as a co-actor in Haddi. He plays the role of a ruthless gangster-turned-politician who is the nemesis of Nawazuddin’s character. Anurag Kashyap is known for his dark and edgy films that explore the underbelly of society and politics. He has also acted in films such as Akira, Imaikkaa Nodigal and Ghoomketu.
Haddi’s release date and other details
Haddi is set to release on ZEE5 on September 7, 2023. The film also stars Ila Arun, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Saurabh Sachdeva, Shridhar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, Vipin Sharma and Saharsh Shukla in supporting roles. The film is produced by Zee Studios and Anandita studios. The trailer of Haddi has received positive responses from the fans and critics who are eagerly waiting to watch the film.
