Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Brings Back Varun Dhawan And Maniesh Paul’S Hit Comic Jodi For A Third Round

Varun Dhawan and Maniesh Paul are ready to take their easy comic rhythm back to the big screen. After audiences warmed up to their bromance and timing in JugJugg Jeeyo, and the two carried that familiar spark into Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, the actors have reunited for Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The result is another mainstream family entertainer that places chaos, romance and comedy at the centre of the fun.

Their pairing has worked because it does not feel forced. Varun brings his high-energy leading man charm, while Maniesh has the instinctive quickness of a seasoned entertainer. Together, they have built a screen equation that thrives on banter, confusion and comic reactions, which makes their third collaboration a natural fit for a David Dhawan film.

Varun Dhawan And Maniesh Paul Reunite In Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is scheduled to release in India on June 5, 2026. The romantic comedy is directed by David Dhawan and stars Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur in leading roles, with Maniesh Paul joining an ensemble that also includes Jimmy Sheirgill, Mouni Roy, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Panday and Ali Asgar.

The film comes from Tips Films and Maximilian Films, and it sits firmly in the family entertainer space that David Dhawan has long been associated with. Its premise centres on relationship complications, family-driven confusion and comic misunderstandings, keeping the tone light, colourful and designed for a theatrical audience.

For Varun and Maniesh, the film marks their third shared outing after JugJugg Jeeyo in 2022 and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari in 2025. That continuity gives Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai an added hook, especially for viewers who enjoyed their previous exchanges and the playful contrast in their screen personalities.

Varun Dhawan And Maniesh Paul’S Recent And Upcoming Work

Varun Dhawan has moved between theatrical entertainers and streaming titles in recent years. He appeared in JugJugg Jeeyo in 2022 with Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, and led Amar Kaushik’s creature comedy Bhediya the same year. His OTT work included Bawaal in 2023 on Prime Video with Janhvi Kapoor and Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024 on Prime Video with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He also headlined Baby John in 2024 and starred in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari in 2025. His confirmed upcoming theatrical slate includes Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai and Border 2, an action film featuring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.

Maniesh Paul has continued to balance films, hosting and streaming work. After JugJugg Jeeyo in 2022, he appeared in the 2023 series Rafuchakkar and later featured in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari in 2025. Along with Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, he is also part of Vvan: Force Of The Forrest, a 2026 theatrical release featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia.
