Why It Failed To Connect
Despite being inspired by the landmark Shah Bano case and featuring strong performances, Haq struggled to find its audience. One major reason is the changing consumption pattern of viewers. Serious, content-driven dramas are increasingly being preferred on OTT platforms rather than in cinemas. The film faced stiff competition and simply could not generate the buzz needed to survive at the box office.
Comparing it to other recent releases, Haq has underperformed significantly. Even films with lower budgets and less star power have managed to post better numbers. With a budget reportedly around Rs 45 crore, the film is looking at substantial losses for its makers.
