Hera Pheri 3 Legal Tangle Deepens: Paresh Rawal’s Team Claims No Script Was Ever Shared; Questions Akshay Kumar’s Banner On ‘Loss’ Claims

Paresh Rawal’s legal team claims he was never given a script or agreement for Hera Pheri 3. As legal battles with Akshay Kumar’s banner and Firoz Nadiadwala heat up, the film’s fate remains uncertain.

The saga of Hera Pheri 3 continues to evolve into further controversy.

After weeks of speculation, veteran actor Paresh Rawal‘s legal team has finally responded, claiming Rawal was never given a script or an official screenplay. This revelation adds yet more drama to Bollywood’s most famous comedy franchise.

‘No Script, No Agreement, No Clarity’ – Rawal’s Legal Camp

In a recent statement , Rawal’s lawyer stated that there was no tangible documentation supporting Rawal’s involvement other than a term sheet which he signed based on verbal assurances.

“Our client was never provided a script or agreement,” the legal team said.

The actor’s decision to step away was primarily due to long delays and a lack of clarity, while he had a strong emotional connection to his role as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte.

Firoz Nadiadwala’s Legal Notice Throws Wrench in Production

Further complicating matters is an even-newer legal notice from original franchise producer Firoz Nadiadwala to Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, and director Priyadarshan.

The notice prohibits all four from engaging in promotional marketing or production work related to the Hera Pheri IP and claims that all exclusive rights to the characters and franchise belong to Nadiadwala.

The current movie is reportedly being produced under Akshay Kumar‘s Cape of Good Films, but it seems to be in the middle of conflicting rights, abandoned scripts, and now, strained relationships.

“Trust Me, It’ll Come Later”, Akshay Allegedly Told Rawal

A source close to the actor indicated Akshay Kumar personally assured Rawal that all formalities would be done after their promo session was complete.

“Don’t worry, trust me. You’ll see it later in the long-form agreement,” Akshay is reported to have said — leading Rawal to execute the promo in good faith.

Based on our understanding, Paresh Rawal returned the ₹11 lakh signing amount back to the production with 15% interest — based on the signed term sheet termination. He then left the film without ever seeing a real script or production breakdown.

Promo Shot, But What Now?

The viral Hera Pheri 3 promo was shot on a modified version of the Bhooth Bangla set and was meant to begin their full production by 2026. Reportedly, Rawal requested to wait until the promo had cleared and was fully shot due to legal and creative issues.

With no uniform production schedule, two opposing ambers, and a franchise built from chemistry and nostalgia, the path moving forward with Hera Pheri 3 looks muddied.
