Suniel Shetty Breaks Silence On Paresh Rawal’s Exit From Hera Pheri 3: “I’m Still In Shock, It Didn’t Feel Like 25 Years Had Passed”

Suniel Shetty reflects on the emotional legacy of Hera Pheri and is shocked by Paresh Rawal’s exit, stating it didn’t feel like 25 years had passed when they shot the promo with Akshay Kumar. He vows to bring the trio back together.

Suniel Shetty Speechless Over Paresh Rawal’s Dropping Out Of Hera Pheri 3: “Can’t Imagine It Without Babu Bhaiya!”

“We Shot The Promo And We Felt There Was No Gap In Time.”

Bollywood’s cult comedy series Hera Pheri is back in troubled waters again. With the news of Paresh Rawal’s unexpected departure from Hera Pheri 3 fresh in the headlines, Suniel Shetty has also said something — and he seems just as surprised as the fans.

“We have just shot the promo of Hera Pheri 3. It did not feel like 25 years had passed since the first film,” Shetty confessed.
“The camaraderie between Suniel, Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal was effortless for him. The give-and-take was just so lovely. It felt like yesterday.”

After the jovial atmosphere was clearly building, it soured the mood.

Suniel admitted to being in complete “shock” after Paresh’s social media announcements, leaving the franchise as soon as he got the news.

“Ahan, my son, sent me a cutting from the news and said, ‘Papa, what happened?’ I didn’t have a response to it.”

Shetty Hopes To Get The Iconic Trio Back Together

Suniel confirmed that he wants to speak to Paresh Rawal after he finishes promoting his film Kesari Veer.

“I have just learnt now Paresh ji is not making the film. I am going to go back to Mumbai after 23rd and talk to him. I don’t know what happened. Everything was on track. I don’t think we can imagine anyone else in these characters.”

He also said:

“No one other than Akshay can play Raju. No one can step into Babu Bhaiya’s shoes.
There may be a 1% chance we can make it without Shyam or Raju but without Babu Bhaiya — forget it.”

The Promo Shoot & Priyadarshan’s Legacy

Suniel also spoke about how Hera Pheri slaughtered all forms of casting stereotypes in 2000.

“Priyadarshan did not allow us to iron out clothes. He wiped off our makeup, and told us to sleep on newspapers between shots,” Shetty remarked with reference to the rawness of the film.

He credited Priyadarshan for casting himself and Akshay, both action men, in a comedy.

“It was a risk and it worked because of chemistry and the surprise factor. Casting Rawal who at that time only played villains was genius,” Suniel stated.

Legal Circus Unfolds Between Rawal & Cape of Good Films

As per Box Office Worldwide news reported previously, Paresh Rawal is being sued by Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films for ₹25 crores.

Their legal counsel said:

“There are monetary losses, delays, and reputational harm. We have issued a notice of legal action.”

In return, Rawal tweeted:

“My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate reply to my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my reply then all will be over hopefully.”

Box Office Worldwide Verdict

Hera Pheri is not just a franchise — it’s a legacy for a generation. The amount of nostalgia and expectation of fans may be demonstrated best by Suniel Shetty’s emotional appeal to keep the iconic trio together.

With Shetty expecting to mediate and the legal drama intensifying, the future of Hera Pheri 3 is up in the air.

But if there is one man who can bring this family back, it just might be Shyam himself.
