Hera Pheri 3 Begins: Teaser Drop During IPL Confirmed
The madness behind the cult comedy is officially back! After years of speculation, fan campaigns and industry buzz, Hera Pheri 3 is finally on floors – and it’s Suniel Shetty himself, with an eagerly awaited update, who broke the news: the teaser is already set to come out during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season!
In a recent interview while promoting his upcoming historical drama Kesari Veer, Shetty shares the teaser has already been shot.
“We have just started shooting and have shot the teaser. I think it is expected to release around the IPL. Of course, I am excited, because we are the same team and it has always been a different film.”
The update confirms the iconic trio – Akshay Kumar as Raju, Paresh Rawal as Baburao, and Suniel Shetty as Shyam – back together, onboard with Priyadarshan, who directed the original Hera Pheri back in the year 2000. While the sequel Phir Hera Pheri was released in 2006, it has taken roughly two decades for a proper third film with the original team to happen.
“It’s Masti-Bhara & Full Of Nostalgia”: Shetty On Reunion With Akshay & Paresh
Shetty explained the connection between the threesome chemistry the three actors still have:
“When the three of us find ourselves together, it is so masti-bhara (full of fun). Let me tell you this, there should be a warning sign. Because when the three of us get together, those around us become panicked with how to contain us,” he quipped.
He also acknowledged director Priyadarshan’s humorous way of managing their energy level:
“Priyan sir often keeps telling us whatever fun you guys wanna have, do it after the shot.”
He emphasised, however, their fun in no way diminishes their seriousness towards Hera Pheri 3:
“The same seriousness we brought to Hera Pheri (2000).”
Why Hera Pheri 3 Is a Majorly Anticipated Sequel
The news is a huge relief for long-time followers of the franchise, who have waited a lot longer than expected for this film follow-up, especially given the previous false starts and confusing casting choices. With the original trio firmly in place, production now underway and pent-up audience anticipation building, there is much heightened expectation for this sequel.
With Priyadarshan directing – which will lend nostalgia to the project – fans will expect something fresh and new, full of slapstick might, heartwarming themes, and iconic one-liners. Whether it’s Raju with his street-smart plans to outwit and outplay his audience, Baburao with sheer, hilarious cluelessness, or Shyam’s classic straight-man frustration with the other idiots, this ensemble has always seemed destined for a major, riotous reunion.
Teaser Drop During IPL Is A Masterstroke
Releasing the teaser during the IPL is rather clever, blending India’s two biggest obsessions: cricket and Hera Pheri. The logistics of the teaser release guarantee maximum eyeballs and build up a massive buzz in anticipation of the full trailer due later this year.
