
Recently Deepika Padukone and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor confirmed the Indian adaptation of Bollywood superhit The Intern.
The original film started Anne Hathaway and Tobert De Niro. AZURE Entertainment and Warner Bros India are jointly producing the Indian project along with Deepika’s Ka Productions.
Talking about the film Deepika Padukone said, she found the story light hearted, relatable and endearing. After watching the original film the actress found it universal.
She said the ideologies and and work of young people are slightly different from the older generation. The Piku actress further said that the film is a beautiful depiction and a relevant story of two different generations.
Earlier while announcing the film she quoted, “The Intern is an intimate, relationship-driven film, set in and around the workplace; a story that I believe is very relevant to the present-day social and cultural environment. I have been looking for a light, breezy comedy-drama and this story fits in seamlessly. I cannot wait to begin this journey.”
The film is expected to hit the screens in 2021.
