Hrithik Roshan’s debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai is set to return to cinemas, bringing a wave of nostalgia. The film, which first released on January 14, 2000 and turned Hrithik into an overnight sensation, will re-release in theatres soon.
Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai Is Set To Grand Re-Release Next Month
The film is set for grand re-release on January 10, 2025. This date marks his 51st birthday and celebrates 25 years of his journey in Indian cinema.
The movie is directed by Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, is being re-mastered to give audiences a fresh experience.
A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai will re-release in cinemas on Friday, January 10, that is, the same week as its original release date. Mr Rakesh Roshan recently re-released his other cult film, Karan Arjun (1995), and yet again, he has decided not to leave any stone unturned. The prints have been re-mastered so that the film looks like a new product.”
The source further said that Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai remains as relevant as ever due to its engaging story, chart-topping music, and wide appeal. The film also turned Hrithik Roshan into a national sensation. Many young fans who were either too little or not born when it first hit cinemas now have a chance to watch it on the big screen and enjoy its iconic songs like Ik Pal Ka Jeena, following the current trend of reliving classics in theatres.
Another insider pointed out that the re-release date (10 January) is especially fitting as it marks Hrithik Roshan’s birthday, making it a double celebration. Additionally, the Roshan family’s much-anticipated Netflix documentary, The Roshans, is set to debut on January 17.
Re-Release Trailer Already Playing In Theatres
Adding to the excitement, the re-release trailer for Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai is already playing in theatres. Its digital release is planned for the first week of January 2025.
This iconic film not only launched Hrithik Roshan as a star but also marked the debut of Ameesha Patel. The cast included seasoned actors like Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Satish Shah, and Dalip Tahil.
The story is about a young singer who falls in love with a rich girl but meets a tragic fate. Later, the girl meets his lookalike in New Zealand, and together they unravel the mystery behind the tragedy.
