Chef Vikas Khanna recently opened up about a cherished memory involving Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. To mark SRK’s birthday, Khanna recently shared a wish on X (formerly Twitter). He later shared SRK’s response on Instagram in an emotional post, in which he talked about the night he had the honour of cooking for Khan and his mother.
Although Khanna has prepared meals for some of the world’s top leaders, including four American presidents, he said cooking for SRK felt like one of the greatest honours of his career.

Khanna’s post featured a photo with SRK, along with a heartfelt caption about the cultural bond he felt in that moment. SRK had responded to his wishes, thanking Khanna for the “sumptuous dinner” in New York and sending him warm wishes. Fans were quick to react, celebrating Khanna’s admiration for SRK’s deep respect for family and culture.
In a follow-up post, Khanna shared a screenshot of SRK’s response and explained just how meaningful the evening was for him. “I’ve hosted 4 American Presidents & almost every major world leader, but cooking for my Maa & YOU at Bungalow has been the biggest honour of my career & life,” Khanna wrote.
He went on to express his pride in SRK, saying, “You are our family, our sibling, our pride, our childhood, our love story, our greatest joy & our best representation.”
Khanna recalled how emotional he felt when SRK held his hand and expressed his gratitude for being welcomed at the Bungalow. SRK’s words, “I’ve not come to just a restaurant; I’ve come to honour a place that represents our parents & our culture,” moved Khanna to tears. Reflecting on the moment, Khanna shared, “I cried like a child.”
He affectionately called SRK “our Lion King” and sent blessings to SRK’s mother for raising such a humble and inspiring person.

On the professional front, SRK is set to star in King, an upcoming action thriller by Sujoy Ghosh. He will share the screen with his daughter, Suhana Khan, marking an exciting father-daughter dynamic.
