Ikkis Team Shares Emotional Tribute To War Hero Arun Khetarpal: Sriram Raghavan’s Film Starring Agastya Nanda Releases This Christmas

The team of Ikkis has shared an emotional behind-the-scenes tribute to Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, PVC, remembering his life and ultimate sacrifice for the nation. This tribute comes on the eve of Vijay Diwas and his death anniversary, making it even more special for movie fans and patriots across India.

The makers describe Ikkis as more than just a film. It is a remembrance of a young hero who gave his life at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The emotional tribute video takes viewers behind the scenes, showing how the cast and crew approached this important story with respect and dedication.

A Story Of Courage And Sacrifice

Ikkis tells the true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. He was martyred during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 war. His bravery and courage at such a young age made him a legend. The film brings this inspiring story to the big screen for the first time.

The title itself holds deep meaning. Ikkis means 21 in Hindi, representing the age at which this brave soldier made the ultimate sacrifice. The tagline “Woh Ikkis ka tha, Ikkis ka hi rahega” captures his eternal legacy. This Christmas release aims to remind audiences about the real heroes who protect our nation.

Sriram Raghavan Takes On War Drama

Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, known for thrillers like Andhadhun and Merry Christmas, is venturing into new territory with this war drama. This marks a big change from his usual genre. The director reportedly spent extensive time researching the 1971 war and Arun Khetarpal’s story to ensure authenticity.

Raghavan worked closely with the Khetarpal family to understand the emotional depth of their loss. The film also features the late Dharmendra in his final screen role as the father of Arun Khetarpal. This adds another layer of emotion to the project. Dharmendra passed away in November 2025, making this performance even more precious for Indian cinema.

The Cast Bringing History To Life

Agastya Nanda steps into the role of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal in his theatrical debut. After his digital debut with The Archies, this war drama is a completely different challenge for the young actor. The supporting cast includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, and debutante Simar Bhatia.

The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The same banner previously delivered hits like Stree, Stree 2, and Bhediya.
