This Diwali is getting even more exciting for movie lovers! Maddock Films has just dropped a huge announcement. The trailer for their upcoming war epic, Ikkis, will be unveiled in theatres. Moviegoers heading to watch Ayushmann Khurrana’s big Diwali release, Thamma, will be the first to see the spectacular trailer on the big screen.
Ikkis is not just any film; it’s the powerful true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest soldier ever to be awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour. The film’s tagline, “Woh Ikkis ka tha, Ikkis ka hi rahega,” perfectly captures the spirit of the young hero who gave his life for the country at the age of 21.
Who Was Arun Khetarpal?
Arun Khetarpal was an officer in the Indian Army who showed unbelievable courage during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. During the Battle of Basantar, his tank was hit, and he was badly injured. Despite being ordered to pull back, he refused to abandon his tank and continued to fight, destroying several enemy tanks before he was martyred.
His bravery saved the day for the Indian forces in that sector. He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his incredible sacrifice. Bringing this story to the screen is a massive responsibility, and the team behind it is one of the best in Bollywood.
The ‘Ikkis’ Dream Team
The film is being directed by the master of thrillers, Sriram Raghavan. After giving us classics like Andhadhun and Badlapur, seeing him direct a war film is incredibly exciting. It’s produced by Dinesh Vijan, who is known for backing great content under his Maddock Films banner.
In the lead role, playing the young hero Arun Khetarpal, is Agastya Nanda. This is a huge and very challenging role for the young actor. Reports also confirm that legendary actor Dharmendra will be playing a key role in the film, supposedly as Arun Khetarpal’s father.

This is a classic big-movie move. Thamma is one of the most awaited films of the year, and attaching the Ikkis trailer to it means Maddock Films is very confident about their product. They want the audience to experience the scale and emotion of this war epic for the first time on the biggest screen possible.
This Diwali, when you go to watch Thamma, you won’t just be getting one great film. You’ll also be getting the very first look at what promises to be one of the most important and patriotic films of next year.
