“I’m Just a Bloody Star”, Shah Rukh Khan Brings The House Down At The Launch Of Aryan Khan’s ‘The Bads of Bollywood’ At Netflix Event

At a grand Netflix event, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan took center stage to announce his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba*ds of Bollywood. The much-anticipated series, set against the backdrop of the film industry, promises an “unabashed, entertaining ride through the adventures of a charming, ambitious outsider navigating the glitzy yet tricky world of Bollywood.”

Dressed in an all-black ensemble, with his hair tied back and sporting sunglasses, SRK exuded his signature charisma as he spoke about the project. In a humorous moment, he downplayed his role in the production, saying in Hindi, “Sab kuch yeh log sambhal lete hain, main toh sirf naam ka producer hoon. Mera kaam bahut simple hai. Yeh sab producer, director, writer, production… main toh sirf ek bloody star hoon.”

(Translation: “Everyone else takes care of this, I am just a producer in name. My work is very simple. All these producer, director, writer, production… I am just a bloody star.”)

His witty remark had the audience in splits, followed by loud cheers. Watch his video from the event:

SRK shares Aryan and Suhana’s Childhood Confusion About Bollywood

During the event, SRK also shared a heartwarming anecdote about his children, Aryan and Suhana Khan, growing up in a film-centric environment.

He recalled, “When Aryan and Suhana were growing up, my friends would come home…Karan (Johar), Adi(tya Chopra), actors used to come, like Hrithik (Roshan). So after a year or two, when they saw all these people at home, they asked me if everyone in the world acted on TV because they used to see them on television. They grew up in such an environment.”

This insight into their upbringing gave the audience a glimpse into how deeply embedded the world of cinema has been in the Khan household.

Lead Cast and Production Details

The event also saw Aryan Khan sharing insights into his series, which is being produced under Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house led by Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan. The six-episode series is slated to release on Netflix in 2025.

Meanwhile, Filmfare’s sources have confirmed that the lead roles in The Ba*ds of Bollywood will be played by Lakshya and Sahher Bambba. Both actors are relatively new to the industry, bringing a fresh dynamic to the screen.

SRK Thanks Celebrities for Supporting Aryan’s Show

Shah Rukh Khan also revealed that numerous celebrities have agreed to star in The Ba*ds of Bollywood out of their love for Aryan. Expressing his gratitude, he said, “I want to thank the actors who have said yes to acting in this show. I didn’t ask them, but they came out of love for Aryan. I can’t name them now because Aryan has asked me not to say anything about the show. They’ve decided to show only me. I was made to shoot (the title reveal video) by Gauri and Aryan. I thank all my colleagues; they’ve done so well. I had a chance to watch the episodes; they were very funny.”

Aryan Khan to Skip Promotions

However, Aryan Khan has already made it clear that he will not be participating in the promotional activities for the show. A source revealed, “Aryan has already made it known to Netflix that he will not promote the show in person. He won’t be giving any interviews or partake in promotional activities with the media or influencers.”

With SRK’s trademark humor and star power adding to the excitement, The Ba*ds of Bollywood is already generating massive buzz. As fans eagerly await Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, the show promises to be an intriguing and entertaining exploration of Bollywood’s glitzy yet complex world.
