IMDb, the world’s leading source for movie, TV, and celebrity content, has released its list of the top 10 most anticipated Indian films of Summer 2023. Bollywood dominates the list, with some of the biggest stars and directors in the industry featuring prominently.
At the top of the list is superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s highly anticipated film, “Jawan”. Directed by Atlee, the film is a mass entertainer and features a star-studded cast across different industries. “Jawan” is set to release on June 2 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
In second place is Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal”, a gangster crime drama directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film is one of the most hyped movies of Kapoor’s career and is expected to be a blockbuster when it releases on August 11 in multiple languages.
In third place is director Om Raut’s magnum opus “Adipurush”, starring Prabhas as Lord Ram. Despite initial backlash, the movie remains hotly anticipated among fans and is set to release on June 16. The film is based on the epic Ramayana and is expected to be a visual spectacle on the big screen.
The list also features the highly anticipated sequel to the 2001 blockbuster “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha”, titled “Gadar: The Katha Continues”. The Sunny Deol-fronted period action drama is slated to release on August 11, clashing with “Animal” at the box office.
Surprisingly, the Hindi remake of Prabhas’ “Chatrapathi”, starring Telugu actor Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, is the fifth most anticipated Indian movie of Summer 2023, ahead of other big-budget films.
Other highly anticipated films on the list include Ajay Devgn’s sports biopic “Maidaan”, Sidharth Malhotra’s action thriller “Yodha”, and Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani”.
Overall, the list showcases the diversity of Indian cinema, with films in different languages, genres, and featuring a mix of established and up-and-coming stars. It is sure to whet the appetite of moviegoers across the country and around the world.
